Last August five local men travelled out to South Africa at their own expense, to begin the construction of two new houses at Mother of Peace Orphanage in Illovo, Natal.   Martin Sheridan (Corraweelis, Cavan) and John Lynch (Alacken, Cavan) organised this group, where they spent two weeks at the children’s home, and found it to [...]

During August & September a number of volunteers have travelled to the orphange to build a new house.  You can see from the photograph how well it has taken shape.  The house is currently being plastered and should be ready within the next 8 weeks for 6 new children and a house mother to move into.   [...]
