Gemma & Eddie are currently on holidays in Durban and have been visiting Mother of Peace regurarly.
Here is what Gemma told us,
“We went to visit Fr McMahon’s hospice. There are 12 in there at present, all dying and all under 30 except for one man and one woman. Eight are women, and one of them, about 25 years old has her two young children in there with her. They will stay with her until she dies. It is really very sad but they are all well looked after. Fr McMahon will be 97 years old in April and we brought him a birthday cake in advanc.
The newborn baby boy found at the side of the road will be two weeks old tomorrow, and has been at MoP since he was found. He is doing really well and they call him Anthony, after St Anthony who finds things. All the other children are doing very well with no major problems. The work the girls and Jimmy did while they were here is great and has made a difference to the day care centre.
We spent St Patricks Day at a retreat house with some Irish sisters of Mercy, having a party after Mass and bacon and cabbage and all the trimmings as well. We all had to wear something green”
Keep tuned for upto date news.
